The Senior year of High School is a time of excitement and apprehension. During this important transitional year, the church seeks to offer additional support through 'Senior Partners'.
Each high school senior is partnered with an adult or couple in the church. Adults offer encouragement throughout the year to their student, affording the opportunity for intergenerational friendships to develop.DC JHHS NMHS MHS PHS WMHS |

The Goldenaires are senior* members and friends of our church who come together on the fourth Thursday of September and October, and January through May. We do not meet in November due to Thanksgiving being on the fourth Thursday. Our December meeting is a Christmas celebration on the second Thursday.
Our major objectives are: fellowship, entertainment, information exchange, community service and self-improvement. Our monthly activities and programs target the fulfillment of these objectives.
Our gatherings convene at 10:30 a.m. and adjourn shortly after noon. Though not dinner meetings, we do extend the hospitality of light refreshments.
We believe that we, as seniors, are a very special group with needs unique to our stage in life’s journey. We welcome all seniors of First Presbyterian Church and our senior friends to attend our meetings and share some of their journey with fellow travelers.
*We consider half a century of experience in living a sufficient credential for “senior” status. |

Presbyterian Women (PW) is a church wide organization whose membership is open to all women. Members gather together each month for prayer, Bible Study and fellowship at morning and evening circles. Other special activities are held throughout the year. For generations, PW have responded to God’s love for us by returning this love to the world, laboring to offer tangible signs of Christ’s love and working to pursue God’s vision of justice and peace. Mission opportunities chosen by our own PW include:
WITHIN OUR OWN CHURCH
- Ministering to our homebound, ill or bereaved church members through Buddy, Sunshine, and Care Teams
- Remembering others with birthday and other cards throughout the year
- Welcoming newborns into the congregation and honoring our high school graduates with gifts
- Funding scholarship programs for women’s conferences and for graduating Seniors entering college
- Contributing to special needs for the congregation, as well as selected church projects
WITHIN THE COMMUNITY
- Collecting & donating school supplies for needy children
- Delivering "Meals on Wheels"
- Contributing financially to Grace Presbyterian Village Caring Fund
- Assisting Mesquite Social Services, Sharing Life, and New Beginnings
- Making door wreaths and lap robes for residents of local nursing homes
U.S. AND WORLD WIDE
- Contributing financially to Presbyterian Children’s Services, Waxahachie and Heifer Project International
- Collecting PW Special Offerings (Thank, Birthday, Least Coin) to benefit women and children around the world
- Contributing to Presbytery, Synod and Churchwide support through annual Financial Pledge
The PW Purpose states: Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves: to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study, to support the mission of the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God's Kingdom. |

The First Presbyterian Men's Council is one of the oldest Christian men's organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We have been meeting continuously since early in the last century. We have a breakfast meeting at 7:30am on the fourth Sunday of the month from January to October. All men of our church and visitors are invited. Our meetings provide an environment of Christian fellowship and feature a guest speaker. Officers are elected on a yearly basis. This year's officers are, President - Stan Jeffus, Vice President - Larry Thomas, Treasurer - Roger Samuels.
The Men's Council is dedicated to the advancement of First Presbyterian Church of Mesquite. We focus our efforts and finances in any area where we see a need. Some of our activities include a father and son/daughter meeting, support of the local Boy Scouts, and selection of Church Man of the Year.
We also maintain a strong presence at the annual Men's Council meeting held each spring at Mo-Ranch and sponsored by Mo-Ranch Men's Conference Council. We maintain a separate fund to sponsor selected men on their first trip to Mo-Ranch. This years Men’s Conference will be held April 30 - May 2.
Our yearly Thanksgiving dinner is our largest fund raising event. The Men's Council provides turkey dinner and all the trimmings as well as a guest speaker. This annual event is a time for the entire church to join in Christian fellowship and thanksgiving.
