This Week in Our Church

We are making plans for Wednesday Night Live which will begin in September, and are in need of volunteers to help with the dinners. We need cooks, servers, cleaner-uppers, table-setters, and tablecloth-washers. Our goal is to have enough people so the cooks don’t have to clean. This is a great opportunity for those with loved ones in Wednesday classes to help and enjoy fellowship while waiting for the classes to get out. A table with sign-up sheets will be in the hallway after both services next week. The classes start in September. If you have any questions, please contact Rich or Barbara Follansbee.

We are taking orders now for the 2011 Mission Yearbook for Prayer and Study ($8). This book is designed as a personal devotional guide, and is a good resource for learning about the mission work of the Presbyterian Church (USA) around the world. Daily Readings: The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) web service has several documents that change daily. Many people find them useful for daily meditation and prayer, or simply as a way to learn about Christian faith and the work we are doing in the world. The daily readings include a daily lectionary, mission yearbook, and questions from the new catechism.
